Unchud ("Unchud: Stop being a chud" on the App Store) is a habit app that helps you cut down on fast food. This policy explains what data the app handles, why, and what you can do about it. Unchud is made by an independent developer, lukazsdev, who is responsible for this data ("we", "us"). Questions: lukazsdev@gmail.com.

The short version

What stays on your phone

Your answers and logs

During onboarding you tell the app how often you eat fast food, what a typical order costs, when cravings hit and why you want to quit. As you use it, you log home-cooked meals, earned treats and slips, the outcome of cravings, a daily energy check-in, and the coins you earn and spend. All of this is stored only in the app's private storage on your iPhone, and it is used only to show your streak, score, coins and money saved. It is not sent to us or anyone else.

Meal photos

If you add a photo to a home-cooked meal, the app copies it into its own private storage on your phone so it shows in your history. Photos are not uploaded anywhere. The app only asks for camera or photo library access when you choose to add a photo.

Reminders

Reminder notifications (daily check-in, an evening nudge, milestones) are scheduled on your phone by iOS. No notification server is involved and no push token is sent to us. You can turn reminders off in the app or in iOS Settings.

Home screen widget

The widget shows your streak, money saved and coins. The app shares those few numbers with the widget through storage on your phone that only Unchud and its widget can read.

Delivery app lock

If a future version offers the delivery app lock, it will use Apple's Screen Time framework. Apple gives the app only opaque tokens for the apps you pick, so neither we nor the app can see which apps they are, and they never leave your phone. The app will ask before turning it on.

What leaves your phone

Your subscription

If you subscribe, the App Store takes the payment. RevenueCat, our subscription provider, receives a random app user ID created on your phone, your purchase and subscription records from Apple, and basic device information (device model, operating system, app version, country and IP address) so it can tell the app whether your subscription is active. We don't receive your name, Apple ID or payment details. Nothing you log in the app is sent to RevenueCat.

Technical data

When the app talks to RevenueCat or the App Store, those services see your IP address, as with any internet connection, and keep it under their own policies.

Who processes data for us

RevenueCat processes data only to provide its service to us. Transfers outside the UK and EU are covered by standard contractual clauses.

Legal basis

If you're in the UK or EU: subscription data is processed to provide the app you asked for (contract) and to prevent fraud and keep purchases working (our legitimate interests). Everything else stays on your device and isn't processed by us at all.

How long it's kept

Your choices and rights

Use Settings → Delete all my data in the app to erase your logs, photos, streaks, coins and settings from your phone immediately, or simply delete the app. You can cancel a subscription at any time in your App Store account settings. For anything about subscription records, email lukazsdev@gmail.com. Because the app never asks who you are, we may need your App Store receipt to find your records.

If you're in the UK or EU, you can also complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).

Health information

Unchud is a habit and money tool, not a medical, nutrition or weight-loss service. It doesn't track weight or calories. If you pick "lose weight" as one of your reasons during setup, that choice is stored only on your phone, like your other answers; nothing about your weight is collected. If your relationship with food feels out of control, talking to a doctor or an eating disorder support service, such as Beat in the UK, can genuinely help.

Children

Unchud isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If the way the app uses data changes, for example if a future version adds optional accounts or location alerts, we'll update this page and the date at the top before that version ships.
